With the current state of our economy a homemade Christmas is appealing to many people. One great way to do this is with gift baskets. Gift baskets are a great way to personalize a gift. Take their interest and go from there. The possibilities are endless but here are a few ideas to get you started:
Fruit basket- can be done quite easily. Citrus fruits, grapes and nuts are usually on sale this time of year.
Homemade Candy basket- If you do a lot of baking during the Holidays it is a great idea to fill up an extra basket with cookies, candy, sweet breads etc.
Wine and cheese basket- a nice bottle of wine, some cheese, grapes and a set of wine glasses
Tea basket- tea pot or a nice cup and saucer, teabags, and cookies
Chocolate lovers basket- anything chocolate- candy, cocoa etc
Movie lovers basket- dvd, microwave popcorn, movie tickets
Quilters basket- fabric (1/4 yard increments )is good , scissors, thread, thimble
Fisherman's basket- fishing lure, fishing line, stringer, net, fishing pole
Sportsman's basket- blaze orange vest, handwarmers, jerky, camo ( a lot of these items go on sale after hunting season.)
Ladies Basket- perfume, lotion, bath beads, bath wash
Mens basket- razor, shaving cream, shaving lotion
These are a few ideas. Look online at some gift basket sites and gather ideas from them.

I am doing the basket thing this year.... only most of my baskets are the same theme. I am baking a bunch of home made bread, packaging some home made bread mixes, some home made candy and jars of home made jam and applesauce. I have been collecting baskets from garage sales and goodwill all year. I love to bake and am known for my cooking, so I figure that this is a good gift... Thank you for the many ideas!
