More homemade cleaners

Laurie over at life force vibrations shared some great cleaning recipes on her site. Here are some of the ones I am wanting to try out.

ponderchicks' Shave Gel for Women
In an old shampoo bottle mix:
2 tablespoons of shampoo
2 tablespoons of conditioner
1 teaspoon of hand cream
1or 2 teaspoons of baby oil

Mix well and use.
It will stay good for about 6 months.

Cassandra's Dandruff Remedy
Pour baking soda into an old shampoo bottle.
Mix in water & pour directly onto scalp.
Use that and never anything else to wash your hair.
Your hair might seem a little dry at first.
The natural oils in your scalp need to be unclogged from old shampoo.
**I have used this one and it does work. It gets your hair incredibly clean and soft!

Dishwasher Detergent

Mix and use per dishwasher load:
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda

** I have used this one also with great success. I also use white vinegar instead of jet dry.

Henrietta23's Liquid Hand Soap & Sink Cleaner
Hand soap

Fill a pump dispenser almost full of liquid castille soap.
Add 1 Tablespoon olive oil and a few drops of essential oil (I like peppermint or lemon).
Use at your kitchen or bathroom sink.

Sink Cleaner

Use a mix of baking soda and cinnamon.
The baking soda is a mild abrasive.
The cinnamon has disinfecting properties.

Lizardz's Carpet Freshener
You know that stuff you buy to sprinkle on the carpet to absorb odors?
Make your own using baking soda and your favorite essential oil.
I buy large quantities of baking soda at Costco.
First, put some in a large jar.
Then add about 20 drops of essential oils (I like a mix of tangerine and cinnamon).
Sprinkle on your carpet, then vacuum up.
Try sprinkling it at night before going to bed, then vacuum in the morning.
You can also use this on couches and chairs (not leather).

hsm5grls' Drain Cleaner
Put 1 cup baking soda and 2 cups vinegar down the drain.
Wait about 20 minutes.
Flush with hot water.
(We use this one here on our farm, and it works GREAT! --LK)

BlueBloomers' Laminate Floor Cleaner
In a 24 oz. spray bottle mix:
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/3 cup vodka (do not use DH's good vodka or you will get into trouble)
1/8 tsp. dish soap
Fill the rest of the bottle up with distilled water

Spray floor and wipe clean.
The vodka speeds up the drying process.
