Victorian Bathroom I
I love a clean bathtub, who doesn't? What I don't like is cleaning with a bunch of chemicals and have the chemical residue left over in the tub the next time you bathe. I found a great alternative to store bought cleaner. This works great in the bathtub, shower and even the sinks ( kitchen sink included)
I sprinkle a fair amount of baking soda into the tub and then a squirt of dishwashing liquid and scrub! Rinse with water- Simple as that! This gets off even the worst soap scum and gets the tub really clean.
The best part is that I know my tub is clean and I don't have to worry about chemical residue when I fill up the tub for my bath!

I cant believe it!! I thought i was being so inventive with this very same recipe just two days ago!! But it works a treat doesnt it. I used a soft scrubbing type cloth and was really impressed and inspired to do it this way more often. Cherry

If you have really tough bathtub stains, like rust or soap scum buildup, cream of tartar works even better than baking soda. I cannot remember where I read about using it, but I tried it recently on a couple of rust spots which appeared in my tub and was amazed. I ordered some in bulk and it was about as cheap as baking soda too! I used it plain, but I have read you can mix it with hydrogen peroxide to make a paste or with salt for something more abrasive.
