Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce


1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion (chopped)
1/2 cup green pepper (diced)

2 cans diced tomatoes (14 oz)
1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 TBS brown sugar
2 tsp oregano (dried)
2 tsp basil (dried)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp thyme (dried)
1 bay leaf

grated parmesan cheese (optional)


  • Brown meat in saucepan. Add onions and green pepper, browning lightly. Drain and add to slow cooker.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients (except parmesan cheese) and give the mix a good stir. Cover.
  • Cook on low 7 to 8 hours, remove lid the last hour to thicken sauce.
  • Top with parmesan cheese and serve.
